This is my daughter's SECOND one, which she requested for a present. Nicely conceived.
This was a big let-down.The ideas presented in this book are wonderful. Fortunately, I ordered the Klutz Paper Twirling book at the same time. At first it looks like the ink is fine, it soaks into the daubers, completely colouring the sponge, so that it appears to be working properly.
The hints and tips are very useful. We even let them sit upside down for days to try and re-wet the top of the pad, as is recommended with ink pads, and it did not help. The stencils are great.
But when you try to dab the ink onto your paper.almost none is transfered.I'm not entirely sure if it's the inks themselves or if the inks were just really really old. As a whole, I would have to say this would have been our favourite Klutz book ever; except for the fact that the pigment inks are so dry that it is nearly useless. It takes so much work to get enough ink on the daubers and then on the paper that it is not even worth the effort.
Either way, this was a completely useless gift for my daughter's birthday. We really enjoy that one.
This was a Christmas Gift for my grand-daughter age 8. She was very happy with it. Nice quality stencil templates.
It's easy to read directions and hints to create a great art picture were easy and fun to learn about. My daughter loves this book. I did some of the stencils, too, and was impressed. We love these types of books that come with everything you need to learn a new craft skill. 5 Stars.
My daughter got this for Christmas and really loves it.Its convenient to just bring along on a car ride or a friends housetoo cause its all contained.
